In 2007, Charity Navigator added the ‘Donate to this Charity’ button to more than one million nonprofit profile pages, but the Giving Basket really came into its own in 2015 when it was no longer just a link to an external processor, but, instead, was a fully functioning donation experience all within our site. You can support multiple organizations in one convenient checkout, control how much information you share with each nonprofit (or even donate anonymously), and gain access to your entire donation history via your Charity Navigator account.

Since 2015, more than $171 million has been donated to thousands of nonprofits. What started as a novel concept, ended up raising millions of dollars for impactful nonprofits working to find cures for rare diseases, alleviate food insecurity, promote tolerance and understanding, enrich communities with the arts, serve members of the military community, and so much more.

In 2021, the Giving Basket made another huge leap through a partnership with Give Lively. Give Lively is a tech company that builds practical, easy-to-use fundraising solutions that are free for nonprofits and intuitive for donors. Recognizing this, Charity Navigator asked Give Lively to turn its secure and intuitive platform to the advantage of the Giving Basket.
