CHARITY NAVIGATOR WINS AN ANTHEM AWARD FOR MAXIMIZING INFORMED CHARITABLE GIVING DURING GLOBAL CRISES

JAN. 30, 2024 - New York – Charity Navigator, the nation’s leading nonprofit evaluator, announced today that it won an Anthem Award for the second year in a row, earning Silver in the Humanitarian Action and Services, Best Use of Technology Category. Its submission, “Maximizing Informed Charitable Giving During Global Crises,” highlights Charity Navigator’s Give Now lists, which equip millions of donors with the knowledge to make meaningful giving decisions during times of crisis with curated lists of highly rated charities that provide immediate and long-term support to affected communities.

In 2023, Charity Navigator analysts created curated Give Now Lists of charities responding to the Turkey Syria Earthquakes, the Humanitarian Crisis in Israel and Gaza, the Hawaii Wildfires, and more. Over 8 million donors visited Charity Navigator in 2023 and gave $42 million through the Giving Basket

“Whether a donor has $5 or $5 million, we want them to have the tools and resources they need, for free, to give with their hearts and also their heads during times of crisis,” said Michael Thatcher, President & CEO of Charity Navigator. “This win is a testament to the Charity Navigator team's years of effort to design a system allowing donors to effortlessly make an impact when and where it is needed most.”

Last year, Charity Navigator won Bronze in the Best Product, Innovation, or Service category for Responsible Technology. “Democratizing Trustworthy Charitable Giving Via Smart Searching, Ratings and Scam Prevention Resources,” honored Charity Navigator’s website relaunch in November 2022, which features an expanded rating system and robust search engine that further highlights a charity’s cost-effectiveness and overall health.

“Since the Anthem Awards launch in 2021, we’ve seen incredible change and growth in the impact sector,” said Anthem Awards General Manager, Patricia McLoughlin. “The work that we have received in the 3rd Annual Anthem Anthem Awards is game-changing. From innovative projects fighting climate change to impactful calls for equal rights across the globe and best-in-class CSR and ESG efforts- the Anthem Community is a bright light in our uncertain world.”

Winners for the 3rd Annual Anthem Awards will be celebrated at the Winners Celebration on January 30 in New York City. Fans will be able to hear from social impact leaders and their hallmark speeches at www.anthemawards.com.
