Hurricane Beryl

Hurricane Beryl made landfall along Texas' Gulf Coast as a Category 1 hurricane, causing over 2 million homes and businesses to lose power and extensive flooding. Damaging winds and flooding will continue into the week as the storm moves inland.

Hurricane Beryl, a historic Category 5 storm, previously made landfall on the island of Carriacou in Grenada, causing extensive destruction and loss of lives across Grenada, Jamaica, and other southern Caribbean islands. Beryl then moved northward, making landfall on Mexico's southeastern peninsula as a Category 2 storm.
