The Ark Pope Memorial Animal Shelter

Mission

The Ark, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization dedicated to the care of homeless, unwanted or displaced animals, provides shelter and care to all admitted animals until appropriate placement can be made. The Ark does not euthanize unless a serious medical or behavioral problem exists.

Vision

Develop a community with expanded access to affordable services to alleviate overpopulation, enhance animal welfare, foster responsible pet ownership, and improve outcomes for animals.

Goals

1.Invest in programs that increase access to spay/neuter surgeries and reduce unplanned litters. Stitch in Time: Spay/neuter program - Provides vouchers to offset the cost of surgery for low-income households. Alley Cat Program: Trap/neuter/release program - Reduce the propagation of feral cat colonies.
2.Invest in expanded access to affordable vet care, including an onsite low-cost spay/neuter clinic and a nonprofit veterinary clinic.
