Mission

The department's purpose is to protect life and property on Orr's and Bailey Islands and support emergency services in other areas of Harpswell as needed. This includes, but is not limited to, fire prevention, fire extinguishing, emergency ambulance service, support during natural disasters when Harpswell's general welfare is at risk, and mutual aid to other districts. The department also holds social functions and conducts fundraising activities to obtain financial support for these activities.
