Vision

We envision a future in which the ecosystem, economy, and communities of the Gulf of Maine region thrive amid rapid change. Communities create and have access to the knowledge, resources, and relationships needed to make the important decisions that most affect their lives. The solutions we develop here both inform — and are informed by — those developed around a warming world.

Goals

1. 1.Increase understanding of the Gulf of Maine ecosystem and economy through interdisciplinary, collaborative, and action-oriented research.
2. 2.Build Maine middle school students’ critical thinking skills and understanding of the nature of science through participation in authentic science experiences.
3. 3.Engage marine stakeholders to share knowledge, learn, and make decisions that nurture ecologic and economic resilience in the Gulf of Maine.
