Mission

LifeFlight of Maine (LOM) is the primary provider of critical care air and ground transport services throughout the State of Maine. Critical care services are supplied directly to patients needing high acuity transport between hospitals, at emergency scenes in support of local EMS and public safety organizations, and in concert with public safety agencies selected search and rescue services. EMS and public safety requests for LifeFlight are managed through State EMS protocols overseen by the State Medical Direction and Practice Board. Emergent hospital transfers from emergency department and critical care units are at request physicians caring for critically ill or injured patients requiring emergent resuscitation, stabilization, and transportation for specialty services at major medical centers throughout Maine, New England and beyond.
