The Birchtree Center works in close partnership with local school districts, agencies, and businesses to deliver services. Birchtree's experts offer admission-free Autism Q&As to provide information and resources to local parents and educators. Birchtree staff are active participants in statewide networking/advocacy/professional development organizations such as the New Hampshire Private Special Education Association. Birchtree raises awareness of its mission and cause through social media, email newsletters, and a website.
The nonprofit has an opportunity to tell the story of how the organization adapted to tremendous external changes in the last year.
In 2021, The Birchtree Center adapted its programs in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Autism experts on Birchtree's Outreach team provided consultation and direct services to help local schools address educational disruptions caused by the pandemic. At Birchtree's day school, staff developed new health and safety policies and protocols to meet changing guidance from federal and state authorities. Birchtree's fundraising events shifted from in-person to online to promote safety during the pandemic.
