    Mission

    For over 30 years, the Bureau des Avocats Internationaux (BAI) has worked to build the rule of law in Haiti and enable marginalized Haitians to enforce their rights. The BAI’s sister organization, the US-based Institute for Justice & Democracy in Haiti (IJDH), was founded in 2004 to bring Haitians’ fight for human rights to the U.S. and other powerful countries where decisions about Haitians' rights are made. This innovative partnership builds and nurtures networks of advocates to transform the unjust structures that lead to continual rights violations and poverty for most Haitians.
