    Elizabeth Peabody House Association

    Mission

Founded in 1896, the Elizabeth Peabody House (EPH) was one of Boston's first settlement houses. EPH is a longstanding community anchor with four program areas: Toddler Care - a nurturing, full-day childcare and early education program for ages 15 to 33 months Preschool - an engaging, full-day education program for ages 33 months to 5 years Youth Afterschool and Summer Enrichment - dynamic out-of-school engagement programs for students up to age 13 Food Access Services - includes our food pantry, community fridge, and help with SNAP applications Each year, more than 5,000 individuals (40% children) across 1,600 families rely on us for childcare, education, and food. It doesn't take much to strain a family budget beyond its breaking point. It may be a lost job, a family illness, an accident, or other unexpected crisis. When times are tough, even essentials can seem out of reach. Families move beyond survival when something profound yet simple happens: they get the support they need to move forward. At EPH, that support shows up in dozens of quiet moments: - A family learning they can qualify for childcare and/or tuition assistance - A hungry household sitting down for a meal after picking up a week of groceries from our food pantry - A child’s face lighting up after learning something new for the first time At heart, our mission is about Thriving Children, Thriving Families, and Thriving Communities. We invite you to join our dedicated network of supporters to create more opportunities for children and families to learn, grow, and thrive.
