    The mission of the Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB) is to end hunger here in Eastern Massachusetts. Since 1981, GBFB has worked passionately to provide our neighbors in need with the healthy food and resources they need to thrive. GBFB believes that access to healthy food is a human right regardless of an individual’s circumstances. The organization meets the growing and changing needs of the community by removing barriers and creating equitable access to nutritious and culturally responsive food through all available resources. By achieving food security, GBFB creates opportunities for neighbors to thrive and restore hope.
