Vision

A watershed with resilient streams and rivers that provide healthy wildlife habitat, water supply, beauty, education, and recreational opportunities for all. OARS is an effective, innovative, inclusive, and science-based organization that works to achieve and sustain this vision into the future.

Goals

1. 1.Achieve healthy, clean, connected, and protected rivers through science, advocacy, and community action—monitoring water quality, restoring river flow, removing pollution and invasive species, supporting dam removals, and advancing nature-based solutions for resilient rivers and thriving ecosystems.
2. 2.Build a community that values and cares for rivers by expanding education, recreation, and access—offering events, report cards, equitable recreation opportunities, youth education, and outreach that connects diverse audiences to the rivers’ health and enjoyment.
3. 3.Grow a strong, diverse, and sustainable organization by expanding membership, leadership, and resources—building inclusive programs, increasing supporters, adding expert staff, securing multi-year grants, and strengthening financial stability to protect rivers for generations.
