Founded in 1983, Health Equity International is driven by the idea that health is the key to a society where every person can achieve her or his fullest potential. By showing what is possible in southern Haiti, it aims to be a model for providing high-quality, accessible healthcare in resource-poor places. HEI owns and operates St. Boniface Hospital, the only tertiary care center and referral hospital for the more than 2.3 million people in southern Haiti. <br><br> HEI's mission is to provide essential health services to the people of southern Haiti, especially the most vulnerable. We are committed to building a comprehensive, efficient, and resilient health system that provides high quality care. We believe that ensuring access to life-saving and life-changing health services is a critical component to building strong and productive communities. <br><br>Through SBH, a satellite clinic, and mobile clinics, HEI reaches more than 110,000 patients a year.
