Goals

1. 1.Our most-needed program is our Wellness Clinic. Created in 2023, the Clinic saw over 3,500 animals in the first year. Our Clinic is set up to be a stopgap veterinarian service for those who are adopting a new pet and need to establish a regular veterinarian or need low-cost medical care. The Clinic was established to offer affordable and accessible veterinarian care to the entire county.
2. 2.In 2000 Berkshire Humane Society began SafePet Program to serve people victimized by domestic and sexual violence who were not leaving dangerous situations because they had nowhere for their pets to go. Berkshire Humane Society began accepting referred pets from crisis centers. Providing a safe space and medical care; vaccinations, grooming, and spay/neuter, up to a month for no cost to the owner.
3. 3.Our Pet Food Bank helps keep pets in their loving homes when their owners are experiencing financial difficulties. Each year, Berkshire Humane Society receives between 5000 and 6000 requests for pet food from owners who, for example, may have lost their jobs or faced unexpected medical bills. Providing food helps keep these pets in their loving homes and out of the shelter.
