Berkshire Humane Society

Mission

Berkshire Humane Society is an open-admission animal support organization. Our mission is to ensure the compassionate care, treatment, and placement of companion animals while promoting and improving the welfare of all animals through education and outreach. Each year Berkshire Humane Society takes in over a thousand animals who have nowhere else to go. No matter their age, temperament, medical condition, or breed, we turn no animal away, and we place 100% of our adoptable animals into new loving homes. From humane education to low-cost spaying and neutering programs, we also provide a variety of programs and services that promote the welfare of all animals and their people.

Berkshire Humane Society began accepting referred pets from crisis centers. Providing a safe space and medical care; vaccinations, grooming, and spay/neuter, up to a month for no cost to the owner.
3.Our Pet Food Bank helps keep pets in their loving homes when their owners are experiencing financial difficulties. Each year, Berkshire Humane Society receives between 5000 and 6000 requests for pet food from owners who, for example, may have lost their jobs or faced unexpected medical bills. Providing food helps keep these pets in their loving homes and out of the shelter.
