Raising Awareness
* We regularly align with channel partners including Teach for America, TNTP, the Education Trust, and other nonprofit organizations to ensure our efforts complement and enhance each other. We are also partnering with institutions of higher education, including Morehouse College and Austin Peay University, to scale our training models * We are a part of the One Million Black Teachers Initiative coalition, spearheaded by TNTP and the Hunt Institute, to call for federal funding and advocacy to increase the diversity of our nation's teaching pipeline *
The nonprofit has an opportunity to tell the story of how the organization adapted to tremendous external changes in the last year.
Over the past twelve months, like many organizations, we have been impacted by the global pandemic. As a result, we decreased the level of in-person services provided to our clients and increased to share of virtual delivery in which we are engaged. We launched a free, Virtual Leadership Academy last summer to ensure that school leaders were receiving the tools to manage learning loss and socio-emotional wellness among their students and communities. Through the Roberts Awards, we provided 20 grants of $5,000 to $10,000 to support the health and learning of low-income students and students of color as schools experience closures, hybrid learning, or other disruptions due to the public health crisis. We are also partnering with historically Black colleges and universities to develop a principal preparation program with a fully online curriculum to dramatically expand the number of Black and brown school and system leaders across the country.
