Mission

Campaign Legal Center (CLC) is a nonpartisan nonprofit organization dedicated to solving the wide range of challenges facing American democracy. We fight for every American’s freedom to vote and participate meaningfully in the democratic process, particularly Americans who have faced political barriers because of race, ethnicity or economic status. To protect and improve our democratic system, we use tactics such as litigation, policy advocacy and strategic communication.

1.CLC aims to increase transparency, meaning that Americans have easy and timely access to the information necessary to enable and inform political participation.
2.CLC aims to increase accountability, meaning that public officials who violate law, public trust or constituent wishes face legal consequences or must answer to voters through the democratic process.
3.CLC aims to increase inclusion, meaning every American has an easy and meaningful ability to vote for and help finance candidates.
