Vision

We envision a clean Woonasquatucket River and thriving Greenway for all to lead healthy lives.

Goals

1. 1.We aim to develop, refine, and expand our Community Programs, which work with riverfront residents as they learn about climate adaptation to become leaders for new climate resilience projects in their neighborhoods. In 2023, we worked directly with 60+ adult leaders, and previously graduated 100+ leaders. We aim to strengthen and stabilize these programs to reach 100+ new participants annually.
2. 2.Recent increased funding sources combined with our skill at identifying ways to expand the Woonasquatucket River Greenway have led us to raise funds to expand our leadership capacity. Within the past 2 years, we have added a full-time Civil Engineer and part-time Environmental Engineer. We aim to increase our leadership capacity in similar ways to support our goal of Greenway expansion and upkeep.
3. 3.We have grown our environmental and bicycle education programs during the past 3 years, moving from 2.5 FTEs to 5.5 FTEs and increasing the breadth of our programs and scope of our service area. We served 3,000+ K-12 students in 33 schools/programs in 2023. We are on track to serve 4,000+ students in 2024. By 2027, we aim to offer environmental and bicycle education programs to 7,500+ students.
