Mission

Danbury Youth Services, Inc. (DYS) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit designated as the Youth Services Bureau for the City of Danbury and a licensed psychiatric clinic through the Connecticut Department of Children and Families. Our mission is to empower youth and families to build positive and fulfilling lives. Founded in 1969, DYS has committed 55 years of service to youth and families in Greater Danbury. The focus is person-centered prevention/intervention, fostering healthy relationships with youth and families, and building connections in the community. DYS addresses the critical needs of these families by providing comprehensive services with demonstrated results. DYS turns no one away for the inability to pay.

Goals

1.Strengthen collaborations/partnerships with other organizations and consider mergers to assist with agency sustainability.
2.Resources will be in hand to fully implement program goals and provide for unsteady times.
3.Recruit a diverse Board of Directors that represents the Greater Danbury Community, is passionate about DYS mission, and understands its fiduciary duties.
