Mission

Habitat for Humanity of Eastern Connecticut, in the spirit of partnership, builds safe, efficient homes together with families in need. Habitat accomplishes this goal through the dedicated efforts of community volunteers, financial sponsors, and partner families who share their time, talents, and resources. Our mission is to make a difference in the lives of others, fulfill the dream of affordable homeownership and help eliminate sub-standard housing in Eastern Connecticut. With a compelling desire to do more, we have completed 120 homes (2025) locally and support Haiti, Zambia and Egypt Habitat affiliates through tithing. This has been made possible through the generosity of many who contribute time in a range of supportive services, who donate building materials or property, shop and donate to our ReStores, and donate funds that allow us to build more homes each year. We are incredibly grateful for a broad range of support from our community, homeowners, individuals, foundations, government entities, corporations, local businesses, and area faith groups. We strive to be exceptional stewards of these gifts.
