Vision

Always Home was founded in 1998 to address the needs of Eastern Connecticut's homeless, imminently homeless and at-risk families. As the region's leading service provider focused exclusively on serving families with minor children, we offer case management support and access to the emergency services families need to establish housing stability. We seek to prevent homelessness before it happens and to use shelter as a destination of last resort. Our core programs include Homelessness Prevention, Shelter Diversion and Enhanced Homelessness Prevention services to improve housing security and family well-being. Always Home’s Board of Directors and staff believe housing is a basic need and a fundamental human right. By providing proactive case management support and financial resources, when needed, Always Home helps families overcome their housing crisis and improve their housing stability today, as we work towards building a more equitable and inclusive housing system.

Goals

1. 1.To provide families in housing crisis with the support and services required to successfully overcome an episode of housing insecurity.
2. 2.To respond with appropriate measures to the emergency housing needs of the families in our region.
3. 3.Work collaboratively to further shared goals to end homelessness and to create a more equitable housing system.
