Vision

In fulfilling our mission, we seek to create opportunities that reinforce the dignity of the people we serve; embrace diversity, equity, and inclusion in the communities we support; are transparent in our practices; and hold ourselves accountable to our stakeholders.

Goals

1. 1.To live and work in Palestine or Palestinian communities in the diaspora means to always be prepared for emergencies. For almost five decades, UPA’s grassroots presence has enabled us to provide emergency response programming to support families in crisis. Our commitment to local procurement of essential goods allows us to mobilize immediately in times of emergency.
2. 2.Access to healthcare is severely limited for Palestinians due to the occupation’s recent restrictions on movement and scarcity of medical supplies and infrastructure. Through our Health and Wellness initiatives, UPA addresses these issues head-on, providing hospital support, psychosocial services, and primary care clinics for children and elders.
3. 3.UPA’s education programs facilitate access to learning at all educational levels. The new Learning for the Empowerment and Advancement of Palestinians (LEAP) program provides students in grades 5-9 with after-school programs, summer tutoring support, and psychosocial support. The Mahmoud Darwish Scholarship Fund continues to provide Palestinian students with tuition assistance.
