Nassau County Museum of Art

Mission

The Nassau County Museum of Art is dedicated to fostering a deeper understanding of art and culture through exhibition and education programs for people of all ages and backgrounds. In practice, the Museum pursues its mission by enhancing its permanent collection, sculpture park, historic property, and nature preserve. Nassau County Museum of Art annually presents three changing exhibitions on a variety of themes featuring works by iconic masters and lesser-known artists.

At the heart of our programs lies the belief that anyone can enjoy viewing original works of art in a safe and nurturing environment where everyone's voice is valued and appreciated.

Goals

1.Nassau County Museum of Art supports its goals by undertaking a variety of educational initiatives, exhibitions, and implements the goals of DEAI (diversity, equity, accessibility, inclusivity).
2.Programs for youth on the autism spectrum and adults with memory loss.
3.Newly refurbished art center is handicapped accessible and will soon have additional improvements that will increase access to art programs for people with physical limitations.
