SURVIVORS OF THE SHIELD, INC. (THE ORGANIZATION") IS A TAX-EXEMPT ORGANIZATION THAT WAS FORMED TO PROVIDE SUPPORT FOR THE SPOUSES AND CHILDREN OF POLICE OFFICERS OF THE NEW YORK CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT ("NYPD"), WHO WERE KILLED IN THE ACTIVE LINE OF DUTY.
