Empower women to achieve their full potential in careers as engineers and leaders; expand the image of the engineering and technology professions as a positive force in improving the quality of life, and demonstrate the value of diversity and inclusion.

Goals

1. 1.Advocacy & Collaboration: SWE will expand access for, and strengthen the inclusion and retention of women in STEM, Spark and preserve students’ interest in STEM. Advocate with stakeholders for inclusion of women and their intersectionality. Drive transformational change to remove barriers to the recruitment, retention, re-entry, and advancement of women in STEM.
2. 2.DEIB: SWE will champion intersectional diversity within STEM and model an inclusive and equitable environment. Ensure multifaceted representation at all leadership levels through intentional efforts to diversify SWE’s leadership pipeline and membership. Equitably serve all members through continuous monitoring and enhancement of SWE’s programs and resources.
3. 3.Global Community: SWE will be a global, inclusive community, empowering women in STEM from all locations and life stages. Provide valuable shared experiences that offer personalized journeys and embrace local needs and cultural differences. Foster partnerships with organizations that align with the mission to build engagement, grow membership, and increase sponsorship.
