Vision

There is a misconception about working in broadcasting; many believe it is a glamorous life full of celebrities and red carpets, but this glamor can be a mirage. Despite this, more than 356,000 people have chosen to join the broadcasting profession. Whether they are driven by a passion for storytelling, entertainment, or community awareness, that passion is not always followed by financial security. The BFOA provides a safety net for those who have dedicated their lives to this vital lifeline. These positions go beyond microphones and cameras to include everyone working behind-the-scenes, from the sales and marketing teams to the production crew and engineers to the financial and administrative staff. As a foundation and resource to our broadcasting community, our vision is to be available and accessible to the entire country.

Goals

1. 1.We are investing in new ways to increase funds to protect and expand our programs.
2. 2.Going forward, we plan to target larger broadcast markets in Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, Nashville, and others, to increase awareness of our mission.
3. 3.We recently created a Young Broadcasters Committee to increase mission awareness across all broadcast professions and levels.
