Through independent journalism, telling stories that matter, leading courageous conversations and celebrating the power of music, we create impact – deeper understanding, richer conversation and more engaged and enlightened communities.

Goals

1. 1.One of the many ways New York Public Radio strengthen community connections throughout the New York metropolitan area is through our development of diverse content across the station’s distribution channels and platforms on-air, online, and on the ground.
2. 2.WQXR continued in its three-year strategic plan of attracting more diverse audiences with opportunities to experience classical music; participating in New York City cultural partnerships; supporting the discovery of classical music for young people; and ensuring that our programming and our team reflect the communities we serve and their voices, and the time in which we live.
3. 3.NYPR utilizes a Community Advisory Board, a volunteer-powered independent body of radio lovers supporting the future of public radio. The CAB strives to improve the listener experience, and to ensure that station content and strategy are meeting the specialized educational, coverage, and cultural needs of the communities it serves.
