Ongoing access to educational webinars has helped to develop strong professional and volunteer skills needed to adapt to the challenges all not-for-profits organizations have faced due to the global pandemic.
International Zoom webinars have supported WIZO's global network and offered volunteers valuable insights into fundraising strategies and board development. Leadership webinars keep management well informed about aspects that impact Jewish not-for-profit organizations.
Access to ongoing webinars offered by legal, accounting and non-profit networking ensured best practice regarding maintaining safety protocols and best practice for conducting business in a remote environment.

What are this organization’s external mobilizaton efforts?
As a member organization of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, and American Zionist Movement WIZO works collaboratively to share strategies and learn from our external partners.
During the pandemic, WIZO invested in a professional focused on developing strong messaging via social media and via digital communication. Additionally we invested in a new digital fundraising platform to attract new, and especially younger, donors.

The nonprofit has an opportunity to tell the story of how the organization adapted to tremendous external changes in the last year.
Prior to 2020 our organization had relied on generating 70% of our fundraising revenues at in-person events. Since the onset of the global pandemic WIZO has been forced to reimagine our fundraising strategy. This has included a more robust digital communication and fundraising plan, and a tremendous amount of personal outreach by board leadership to engage our donors.
All aspects of expenses were evaluated. Voluntary reductions in salaries, changes in office rental costs and operations efficiencies were implemented.
Zoom events and meetings were instituted for all constituent groups and committees.
With all of the mitigation strategies in place, WIZO was able to maintain all of its vital programming. When demand for additional services was required the WIZO board was able to provide funding as requested. Including: opening an additional women's shelter, supplying laptop computers to youth village students, and providing additional PPE required to safely reopen day care centers.
