Doe Fund Inc.
Mission
The mission of The Doe Fund, Inc. is to develop and implement cost-effective, holistic programs that meet the needs of a diverse population working to break the cycles of homelessness, addiction and criminal recidivism. All of the programs and innovative business ventures of The Doe Fund, Inc. strive to connect people experiencing homelessness to living wage employment, permanent housing, and lasting stability.
Vision
The Doe Fund is accomplishing its mission — both in the present moment and with an eye to the future — through two core pillars. First, Ready, Willing & Able (RWA) is The Doe Fund’s long-standing work training program for people experiencing homelessness. Since its inception, more than 15,000 participants have secured employment, housing, or both through RWA, which can currently support up to 798 people at a time. Second, The Doe Fund’s portfolio of more than 1,300 affordable and supportive housing units (with more than 800 in development) provides stability to New Yorkers with histories of or at risk of homelessness. These residences offer on-site services including case management, addiction recovery, mental health counseling, healthcare referrals, and more. Together, by strengthening and expanding access to these critical interventions, The Doe Fund meets the needs of people experiencing homelessness where they are — and will help countless more thrive in the years to come.
Goals
- 1.Strengthen our Ready, Willing & Able program with new work training pathways that provide the skills, resources, and opportunities for participants to overcome homelessness by obtaining jobs and housing.
- 2.Develop more permanent supportive and affordable housing (PSAH) to increase pathways to stability, by expanding our 1,300+ unit portfolio into locations and in service of populations of greatest need.
- 3.Launch RWA@Home, a new strategic initiative that brings our proven Ready, Willing & Able workforce development programming to residents living in Doe Fund affordable and supportive housing.
