Mission

Publicolor is an innovative educational youth development organization that empowers students facing immense life challenges for academic and career success through a multi-year project-based continuum of programs. Since 1996, Publicolor has been at the forefront of ensuring educational equity and economic equality for low-income New York City students. Our program unlocks students’ creative problem-solving skills, critical thinking abilities, talents, resilience, and ambitions using a continuum of project-based, design-focused programs that support academic success, job readiness, community service, and— ultimately—career fulfillment.

Goals

1.All staff will participate in trauma-informed mental health training workshops to help deal with our student's widespread mental health issues exacerbated by Covid.
2.Due to the pandemic, we created the remote Design Studio program, now in six schools and serving 349 students.
3.Our goal is to expand our programs to more schools and provide access to more students throughout New York City.
