Vision

Clean water to drink; clean air to breathe; lakes and rivers that are safe for swimming and fishing; preserved open spaces; clean sources of energy that never run out—all this should be the legacy we leave to future generations. Without downplaying the scale or urgency of today's challenges, a healthy and sustainable world is within our reach. We have all the clean, renewable power we need if we choose to use it. We can leave our oldest, biggest trees and lush forests standing and meet our material needs. We can send our kids to school knowing they'll be drinking lead-free water. And much more. Bringing this vision into reality is at least as much about building the political will for policy action as it is about harnessing our technical potential. That’s why our vision of a greener world is inseparable from our vision of enduring public support for environmental progress. Campaign by campaign, we aim both to deliver concrete victories and to build demand for our next steps forward.

Goals

1. 1.Win statewide 100% clean energy commitments in 15 states, representing more than one in three Americans, by the end of 2028
2. 2.Work toward protecting 30% of U.S. lands and oceans by 2030 by winning the designation of the Chuckwalla and Owyhee Canyonlands National Monuments and restoring protections to the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.
3. 3.Continue a major renovation of our website to grow web traffic and user engagement; amplify our reports, media work and more; and improve online fundraising.
