The nonprofit organization presents evidence of strategic thinking and goal setting through sharing their most important strategic goals.
Goal One: Communities across the nation are navigating evolving challenges related to the environment, health and well-being, and equity. In response to these shifting needs, NRPA empowers park and recreation professionals—trusted community leaders uniquely positioned to observe and understand local change—to design and implement new, community-centered programs that directly address emerging priorities.
Goal Two: NRPA scales and expands proven, accessible programs and resources in areas like conservation, youth development, healthy aging, and emergency preparedness and response. By building on successful models, we aim to ensure that everyone, regardless of geography or background, can access the life-enhancing benefits of parks and recreation.
Goal Three: To deepen impact and meet growing demand, NRPA invests in staff, systems, and infrastructure—while also supporting community-led programs. From leadership development to technical assistance, these efforts strengthen our capacity to scale, adapt, and serve communities more effectively.
