Mission

Since 1951, the Animal Welfare Institute has worked to reduce animal suffering caused by people. We continue to seek better treatment of animals everywhere: in agriculture, in commerce, in our communities, in research, and in the wild. We advance our mission through strategically crafted policy and legal advocacy, educational programs, litigation, research, and engagement with policymakers, scientists, industry, educators, the public, and other NGOs.
