CPResource.org features reliable information and resources, from expert videos, podcasts, books, or research studies to great toys, parenting tips, accessibility resources, and travel blogs all designed to help our community navigate their journey more easily.
At the Cerebral Palsy Foundation we aim to increase
global awareness and focus for cerebral palsy research and funding in order to improve health outcomes for people with cerebral palsy. We not only lead the way in advocating for US federal funding and national CP initiatives, but we also partner with global entities including the World Health Organization, UNICEF and the United Nations to improve lives around the world.

The nonprofit has an opportunity to tell the story of how the organization adapted to tremendous external changes in the last year.
Due to COVID-19, this year has been a challenge for us all, as we respond to the needs of infants, families and a medical system in turmoil. We rapidly needed to adjust within our Early Detection Network in order to keep serving families and high-risk infants. Our network institutions quickly pivoted to a telehealth model for their high-risk infant follow-up clinics despite technological and infrastructure challenges.
As part of navigating this new frontier of telehealth, we held monthly calls with our network sites to share best practices as well as challenges with shifting to a telehealth model. Our Early Detection Network investigators realized that developing a standardized and effective method of implementing early detection protocols via telehealth could not only benefit high-risk babies and their families right now, but also well after the pandemic has subsided.
We are focused on implementing telehealth surveillance for the early detection and treatment of cerebral palsy, including the development of implementation toolkits that can be shared globally resulting in improved healthcare service delivery for high-risk infants and their families.
The silver lining of COVID-19 is an opportunity to improve how healthcare is delivered and interventions are implemented in these vulnerable populations leading to improved outcomes and higher quality of life.
