Mission

Established in 1986, Saratoga Therapeutic Equestrian Program (STEP) is a charitable not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) organization, registered in New York State and located at New Forest Equestrian Centre in Glenville, NY. STEP is dedicated to helping special needs individuals achieve a maximum degree of freedom, independence, and mobility through tested, innovative methods of equine assisted therapy and rehabilitation. TEAM STEP PATH & AHA therapists, instructors and dedicated core of volunteers collaborate to provide equine assisted therapies such as: Hippotherapy (PT, OT, SLP) , Our Exclusive STEP UP Program , STEP from the GROUND-UP , Equine Experiential Learning Program, Horses for Heroes , Pony Tales Literacy Program , A Stable Place. Upon entry into STEPs program, students are evaluated by our licensed therapists to determine at what stage of our Equine Assisted Therapy Continuum they should begin, depending on the level of their involvement.
