    Heartland Hope Mission

    Mission

We operate two client-choice food pantries where low-income families receive a 7-9 day supply of groceries for their household. Clients receive clothing, hygiene items, diapers, and housewares. Every pantry visitor meets with Client Service to assess their situation, get screened for programs like SNAP, receive job resources, and be referred to other community agencies as appropriate. Client Service also offers case management follow-up in some cases to further promote self-sufficiency. At Thanksgiving, we provide families with whole turkeys and all the fixings for a holiday feast. At Christmas parents can register to receive new toys and clothes for their kids along with a holiday meal pantry. We operate as a crisis relief agency, serving victims of natural disaster, power outage, government shutdown, or global pandemic. We also do food outreaches to homebound seniors, various mobile pantry sites, and out to rural Nebraska to serve Indigenous people who lack affordable access to food.
