Vision

Within MCV's catchment area of 39 villages in Lake Malawi region, our vision is to provide orphans and vulnerable children and the families that support them with healthy, educated, and empowered lives.

Goals

1. 1.Creating sustainable food options is one of our top priorities. One of our newer initiatives is a ‘Goat Pass On Project’ where 40 families supporting orphans/vulnerable children are provided with 4 goats. The recipients are responsible for 'passing on' the first 2 female kids to another famliy. These goats provide manure for fertilizer, nutritious milk and meat/meals.
2. 2.MCV's project director suggested decreasing restricted funds for individual students to attend university, especially those who are not orphans/vulnerable children. Board review confirmed that utilizing future donations toward core programs and/or newer projects would align better with our mission.
3. 3.Donors and donations are key to our ongoing core and new programs. Donor engagement/management has been very limited in the past and our plan is to dedicate more time and a board sub-committee to improving this measure.
