Mission

SitStayRead advances children's literacy and builds confidence in young readers by using an engaging curriculum incorporating social-emotional learning, enriched by Certified Reading Assistance Dogs. SitStayRead serves Chicago schools and community-based organizations where 90% of students live in low-income households or are housing insecure and 70% or more of third graders score below the national reading average.

SitStayRead envisions a world where every child, regardless of race or economic status, has access to the resources and opportunities they need to develop strong literacy skills, build meaningful connections with animals, and thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
