Mission

The mission of the Parkinson Research Foundation (PRF) is to help find a cure for Parkinson’s disease by funding research and providing education and services that improve the quality of life for people living with Parkinson’s and their care partners. PRF supports and publishes scientific research while advocating for the rights and well-being of individuals affected by Parkinson’s disease. We also promote Parkinson’s awareness through local and national outreach initiatives and educational conferences. PRF provides funding for Parkinson Place Center, a 9,000-square-foot multidisciplinary care center in Sarasota, Florida. Parkinson Place Center offers free membership and more than 85 free Zoom and in person programs each month, including research webinars, fitness classes, dance, tai chi, yoga, voice and music therapy, Rock Steady Boxing™, and other educational and wellness programs designed for people living with Parkinson’s. Parkinson Place Center serves as a comprehensive resource and referral center for individuals living with Parkinson’s disease, their caregivers, and families.
