ALIGN: The Alliance for a Greater New York

Mission

The Alliance for a Greater New York's mission is to create good jobs, vibrant communities, and an accountable democracy for all New Yorkers. Our work unites worker, community, and other allies to build a more just and sustainable New York. As a coalition building organization, we build power to advance the movement for social and economic justice. Using organizing, policy and communications strategies, we develop, drive and win campaigns that increase opportunity for all, improve our environment, and hold government and corporations accountable.

1.Ensure implementation of hard-won policies that cut CO2 emissions and create new and safer jobs, including Local Law 97, Commercial Waste Zones, & the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act.
2.Win new campaigns safeguarding New York from the abusive practices of big corporations and achieve an economy that works for all through our New Yorkers for a Fair Economy and Raise Up NY coalitions.
3.Organize stakeholders around implementing important renewable energy projects in thermal energy and offshore wind that ensure NY can meet emission-cutting goals and create high-quality local jobs.
