PS Science recently joined a coalition of STEM program providers which allowed for funding for our summer programs from the Broad Foundation and Great Public Schools Now. PS Science has also recently developed a strategic communications and marketing plan focused on using social media and marketing activities to expand our audiences and further fundraising goals.

The nonprofit has an opportunity to tell the story of how the organization adapted to tremendous external changes in the last year.
During the 2020-21 school year, our program was interrupted by distance learning as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. Because we were unable to be in classrooms, we developed methods of reaching students and teachers virtually. We created an entire body of video-based lessons consisting of 31 lessons for each grade level K-5, and developed after-school and out-of-school programming. Since PS Science lessons are hands-on, we also had to address how kids would obtain materials needed to participate. As a result, we created kits and delivered them to schools participating in clubs and coordinated with those schools to ensure kits were delivered to kids at home.
