"When the world outside seems to be closing in, we’re called upon to go inside…to find strength, hope, and wisdom. In today's society, extremely polarized in the face of a historic movement toward racial and social equity and justice, we're called upon to look inward in order to fully understand what comes up for us individually: pain, needs, concerns... and explore how to address them." --Foundation for Self Leadership Board of Directors
▪ The Foundation produced over forty free, virtual programs in May, June and July 2020 for those most affected by events overtaking our country and the world.
▪ "innervention" (foundationifs.org/resources/innervention)
included programs for educators, small-business owners, parents and caregivers, healthcare professionals and first responders.
The Foundation partnered with practitioners and other professionals to provide online conversations and experiences, guidance and tools, and stories to help sustain participants during the crisis and beyond.
▪ “Innervening: Uncovering Legacy Burdens of Racism,” a virtual panel of IFS leaders and professionals, delved deep into how racism can be explained and addressed by using the IFS model of parts and Self and looking inwards.
▪ Finally, 2020 began with plans to launch a $1 million campaign to fund the strategic priorities of scientific research and fostering access to IFS. When the world shut down during the pandemic, we refocused efforts on stewardship utilizing Zoom to connect with our most loyal and generous supporters across the country and beyond. We also shifted our annual giving strategy to emphasize recurring gifts, which are fiscally advantageous for both donor and the Foundation.
