Mission

Founded in 2004, The McShin Foundation is a full-service Recovery Community Organization (RCO) committed to serving individuals with substance use disorders as well as their families. While providing housing and the tools for recovering individuals to create positive lifestyles, we aim to spread the word of recovery and educate families, communities, and government regarding SUDs as well as reduce the negative outlook attached to them. McShin is the only RCO in Virginia accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Peer Recovery Support Services (CAPRSS).

By strengthening these, we ensure sustainable growth, effective recovery support, and long-term impact while staying true to our mission.
2.McShin remains dedicated to advocating for individuals with SUD by promoting recovery-friendly policies, reducing stigma, and amplifying voices through education and legislative efforts. We engage communities, policymakers, and media to drive change, ensuring access to resources and support for all seeking recovery.
3.McShin identifies community needs through data, feedback, and trends to develop new programs. We pilot initiatives, assess impact, and refine services for effectiveness. By leveraging peer leadership, partnerships, and funding opportunities, we ensure sustainable, recovery-focused programs that align with our mission and support long-term success.
