VIN Foundation
Mission
VIN Foundation believes a healthy animal community depends on a healthy veterinary community. The VIN Foundation offers programs and tools designed to cultivate a healthy veterinary community by providing veterinary colleagues support at the defining moments of their career; starting with pre-veterinary resources to help determine if veterinary medicine is the right fit, continuing with scholarships and wellness groups through veterinary school, guiding recent graduates with best practices for success as new doctors, helping associates with customizable contracts and student debt repayment advice, to encouraging independent practice owners, and beyond. This support helps veterinarians so they can help our animals and those who care for them.
Vision
The VIN Foundation’s vision is for its programs to encourage a healthy and thriving veterinary community through supporting one veterinary colleague at a time. The hope is through supporting individual veterinary colleagues, they will in turn support many additional colleagues creating a healthy veterinary profession for generations.
Goals
- 1.Expand and scale our current program providing confidential mental wellness support to veterinary professionals facing emotional pressures through additional peer-to-peer counseling staff, mentoring opportunities, and specific support tailored to their individual needs and situations.
- 2.Scale the VIN Foundation’s innovative and deep bench of student debt education resources, supporting veterinary colleagues as they navigate their student loan repayment strategies. Veterinarians routinely graduate with debt exceeding two times their income and little debt education, improving the scalability will help support this in-demand program.
- 3.Implement helpful changes to help veterinary colleagues utilize an user-friendly interface for employment contracts.
