Our mission is to transform the hurdles to education in underprivileged rural schools of India into opportunities for poor children, by creating modern, sustainable, infrastructure solutions THE PURPOSE OF THIS ORGANIZATION IS TO PROVIDE GOOD INFRASTRUCTURE FOR RURAL SCHOOLS THAT SERVE POOR AND UNDERPRIVILEGED CHILDREN IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES, BY CHOOSING ONE SCHOOL AT A TIME FOR RENOVATION; TO COLLABORATE WITH OTHER NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS FOR PROVIDING WIDER SUPPORT TO SUCH CHILDREN AND SCHOOLS; TO BUILD CLASSROOMS AND PROVIDE FURNITURE FOR STUDENTS; PROVIDE SANITARY FACILITIES AND SUPPLIES; AND PROVIDE CLEAN DRINKING WATER.

Describe an investment in leadership

OSAAT is a volunteer run organization and volunteers are our asset. We have positioned several volunteers in executive and core team leadership positions. Our board of directors now includes individuals with demonstrated experience as successful serial entrepreneurs. They have facilitated group meetings as well as one-on-one sessions with leaders and influencers in various fields, for volunteers to acquire/improve their leadership and communication skills. The leadership is constantly engaged in advocacy and mobilization, as evidenced by the huge increase in the funds raised and the number of school projects we have successfully completed in the past 12-18 months. One example is the fundraising event held in November 2021, where 10 schools were pitched to donors for adoption and all have been adopted and fully funded as of today, a new record for the organization

What are this organization’s external mobilizaton efforts?

A 100% volunteer-run organization, OSAAT develops multilateral partnerships to achieve optimal results and long-lasting positive impact on the rural schools. OSAAT has become the leading NGO dedicated to the rebuilding and expansion of rural, underprivileged schools (51 already rebuilt and expanded and 17 more currently in progress). More than 10,000 students benefit every year from classrooms, sanitation and other facilities OSAAT builds. As a direct response to the COVID-19 pandemic, OSAAT created the ODiSI (OSAAT’s Digital Infrastructure Initiative) Program, to provide an integrated digital solution for primary school education in rural India. Our eco-system of CSR)partners and individual donors has more than doubled. Another notable achievement is the successful completion of 6 schools in India that were completely destroyed in the floods that devastated the country in 2019. They were rebuilt within budget and impressive timelines, despite the pandemic posing huge challenges.

OSAAT has become the leading non-profit organization in the US and India, dedicated to the rebuilding and expansion of underprivileged, rural schools (51 already rebuilt and expanded and 17 more currently in progress). In the past year 2021, OSAAT rebuilt 10+schools in various parts of India. A 100% volunteer-run organization, OSAAT develops multilateral partnerships to achieve optimal results and long-lasting positive impact on rural schools. More than 10,000 students have benefited to date, from having a classroom, proper learning spaces, sanitation facilities, kitchens, drinking water, libraries, and playgrounds. As a direct response to the COVID-19 pandemic, OSAAT created the ODiSI (OSAAT’s Digital Infrastructure Initiative) Program, to provide an integrated digital solution for primary school education in rural India. This is the challenge that the ODiSI Program addresses head-on: to close the educational gap between rural and urban India. To achieve this, ODiSI: 1. Designs, implements, and executes an integrated digital learning platform for bringing the most advanced teaching methods, and 2. Tackles the pre- and post-COVID-19 pandemic challenges related to delivering rural public education effectively. ODiSi has successfully completed pilot trials in several rural schools and is currently expanding its reach to clusters of schools in various parts of India.
