Mission

The Human Rights Foundation (HRF) is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that promotes and protects human rights globally, with a focus on closed societies. HRF unites people in the common cause of defending human rights and promoting liberal democracy. We seek, in particular, to sustain the struggle for liberty in those areas where it is presently under threat.

Vision

Grounding our work in a deep commitment to individual liberty, HRF aims to raise awareness about the nature and vulnerability of freedom around the world. Our programs provide education about what constitutes a free society, why freedom matters, and how freedom is nurtured, developed, and sustained. HRF also strives to strengthen the work of grassroots activists in closed societies.

Goals

1.We plan to launch new programs in response to political changes happening in the world, for example, supporting Belarusian political prisoners and pro-democracy activists facing financial repression.
2.We aim to grow our digital and in-person audiences through our global conference series, reach new audiences in different industries, and expand our public education content online.
3.We plan to expand our development and communications teams by hiring new staff and continuing career development opportunities for incoming and current staff.
