Tee It Up for the Troops partners strategically with nonprofits such as Fisher House Foundation, Move United, Salute Military Golf Association and many other veteran service organizations to combine efforts to support veterans and caregivers. We also partner with the Club Managers Association of America (CMAA), a strategic partnership for our events. Tee It Up for the Troops also participates in networks such as the George W Bush Presidential Center, CreatiVets, and service dog organizations like K9's for Warriors and Warrior Canine Connection to support veterans collectively. Through social media (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube) and other marketing activities such as our blog and newsletter, we increase awareness of veterans issues on which our 6 pillars are based: suicide prevention, PTSD and traumatic brain injury treatment, employment, housing, sports rehabilitation, and family support.

Story of Adaptability

The nonprofit has an opportunity to tell the story of how the organization adapted to tremendous external changes in the last year.


Tee It Up for the Troops adapted to a challenging year in many ways. Due to the inability to have our annual in-person REUNION, we adapted our programming to host several virtual REUNION events along with smaller one-on-one REUNIONS. Our golf events had to change their structure to accommodate safety protocols, but we were still able to host over 30 events in 2020 and will host around 50 events in 2021. In addition to many other event changes, we added a snow golf winter event which will become an annual event. We increased our virtual fundraising opportunities in many ways including a virtual putting challenge that also aimed to increase awareness ("Step It Up for Heroes") as well as a Fantasy Golf Challenge. In addition to our virtual REUNION programming, we also increased our veteran outreach to ensure more veterans were supported during the pandemic. In addition to increased targeted outreach, we increased sharing available resources for veterans on social media and in our newsletter. Through our newsletter and social media accounts, we also made sure to spread awareness on how the pandemic affected veterans specifically and continued to share ways for civilians to support veterans through the difficult time.
