Mission

Through strategic litigation, communication, activism, training, research, and education, the Institute for Free Speech (IFS) works to promote and defend the political rights to free speech, press, assembly, and petition guaranteed by the First Amendment. We are the nation's leading organization dedicated solely to protecting First Amendment political rights. The Institute for Free Speech represents clients on a pro bono basis in order to secure their First Amendment rights. IFS actively pursues strategic litigation and files amicus briefs to those ends.
