Horses of Tir NA Nog

Mission

Our goal is to create a safe-haven for horses that have few options remaining, thereby ensuring them a better quality of life. At Horses of Tir Na Nog, we help build connections between people and horses in the San Diego community, increasing awareness about responsible horse ownership and care through education.

Vision

A world where horses are seen as more than commodities. They deserve safety and freedom. Our goal is to keep our horses as healthy as possible given their age and physical conditions. We cannot turn back the hands of time for our older herd members, nor can we cure every condition that ails them. Through regular veterinary care, sound nutrition and thoughtful overall management we strive to ensure a high quality of life. In addition, through behavior management efforts we strive for "happy" horses, with low stress levels.

Goals

1.Outreach is a key initiative for us in 2026 and 2027. In 2025, we returned to hosting events at the ranch. Moving forward we want to continue those events and return to more direct community outreach. As the number of horses in our care has grown, so has the importance of growing our volunteer program.
2.We hope to increase our monthly giving program, expanding our public impact, and increasing our support for veterinary care. We are making continuous efforts to increase our monthly giving program.
