What are this organization’s external mobilizaton efforts?
Prodisee Pantry collarborates, coordinates and cooperates with a myriad of nonprofits, community ministries, public and private sector organizations, government and more to help maintain and develop Baldwin County, Alabama as a great place to live, work and play. We host quarterly connecting communities luncheons for networking and training. Staff has opportunities regularly to speak, train and present at a variety of venues each year. Because we provide for the most basic of human needs, our networks cross many times in an effort to make sure no one is hungry during times of crisis both household or regional disasters. Currently our Executive Director is the Chair of Baldwin County Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster and was responsible for community organizing of two Long Term Recoveries... COVID-19 Pandemic and Hurricanes Sally & Zeta in 2020-2022. Prodisee Pantry understands the power of social media and actively use it to share our mission

The nonprofit has an opportunity to tell the story of how the organization adapted to tremendous external changes in the last year.
Prodisee Pantry re-opened our facility to our in-person intake process for our food distribution and onsite resource connections as the COVID-19 Pandemic appeared to be waning. Re-training and recruiting new volunteers to our revised processes along with our expansion of additional distributions in food deserts in the Northern part of our County presented unique opportunities for growth. Everyone wanted to get back to normal, we slowly transitioned to our new normal which is similar yet different. Following CDC guidelines; encouraging mask wearing by all inside our facility but not requiring them, created an interesting dynamic. We rely on a volunteer base of retired folks, some were hesitant to return inside. Many appreciated the encouragement of masks but many clients and volunteers chose to be mask free. The pantry has always protected itself from political influences but we could clearly see partisanship popping up during distributions. We quickly retrained all volunteers on our mission, vision and core values; food, family and faith. This brought a sense of relief to everyone and put Prodisee Pantry back on a positive path to a new normal that everyone can accept.
