The Food Literacy Project

Mission

Mission: Youth transforming their communities through food, farming, and the land. The Food Literacy Project leverages the power of urban agriculture and open green space for youth development toward a healthy and equitable community where people and places thrive. As young people experience the soil, sun water, air, and work of farming, they gain life and leadership skills, access to fresh food, and an opportunity to shape a more just and sustainable community food system.

1.The Food Literacy Project seeks to deepen the impact we have within our community by expanding our Field-to-Fork programs to offer wider selections of experience types to a wider variety of ages.
2.The Food Literacy Project is in the midst of a capital campaign to secure a Forever Home, on which to build a vibrant community hub for urban agriculture and food justice.
3.The Food Literacy Project seeks to connect potential urban farmers with community garden space, and advocates for the preservation of green space and access to it for farmers.
